I need help naming this cartoon! D:?

Okay, so I was talking to my best friend about our favorite childhood shows, and I remembered one that was about a native american bison, who tells stories to children that teach them morals. I'm pretty sure that the bison lives in a forest with other animals, but, I can't seem to remember the name. It was a show from the 90's, I think. XD Help?
