What exactly is a business degree?

My name is Kim and I'm 17. I graduate in six weeks and I'm undecided on picking a major. I love nursing but my dad told me nursing would be chump change for me because I have expensive taste and appreciate the finer things in life. Though, my dad is a doctor he does not suggest the medical field either but instead he encourages me to major in business. He says it does not take that much schooling and I could easily move up the corporate ladder. My uncle is rich and he drive to work in his Bentley and gets the week ends off. He was a business major. Can someone please explain to me what that is? I'm not greedy in the least bit and I would love nursing but my parents keep telling me not to pursue it.
