C-Section and genetics?

My mother is very small only 4'11 and she has to have c-sections with all of her children because her pelvic outlet was very small and we wouldnt fit. I am worried I might have got this ped down to me and mine may be small also. However I am a thin person but do have bigger hips and am 5'5 much taller than my mother. Is it mainly heredity that is the outcome of how large your pelvic outlet is? Also are there any women who's mother needed a c-section due to this but they did have a natural birth themselves?
