How do you deal with this situation??

so my bf n i are deeply in love. and a while ago i decided to test one of my close friends loyalty to me n she failed. i told him to hit on her and before he did ,she was hittin on him. she doesnt kno I kno n he told me everything. and now a few months later he told me that when that happened he had intentions to mess around with her and that wasnt part of the plan but now that we are in love he told me b.c he doesnt want to pursue a relationship with me that has lies. now im hurting b.c he intended to mess with my "friend" yet he told me. should i forgive him? or end it? im so confused.
